Interview with Health Blogger Victoria!

Hello again my lovelies! I took the time out to interview blogger Victoria who happily runs a UK Lifestyle Blog and Fashion Boutique by the name Lylia Rose. Let's dive right into the interview! Shall we?

Victoria: My name is Victoria and I’m a busy mum of two littles. I have a 4 year old girl, Bella, and a 22 month old boy, Reuben. I live with my husband, Ben, and we’ve been doing up our first home together for the past three years. I’m a mummy in the day and have a part time cleaning job as my back up in the evenings. I work full time on my blog around everything else. I decided to go professional with my blog last year and it’s now my main source of income which I still find incredible.

Leigh: What inspired you to start your health blog?

Victoria: I originally started writing a blog about my small online shop to try and get more traffic to my website. I fell in love with blogging and decided to blog about other things. I’d only really seen fashion and beauty bloggers so gave this a go. I soon realised I wasn’t very passionate about this and it wasn’t really me. So one day I culled my blog posts and deleted about 150 of them. I decided to write about my actual interests and found it so much easier writing about things I was actually passionate about. Healthy living is something I have become more and more passionate about over the past five years. I’m a vegetarian and follow and mainly plant based wholefood diet. I’ve recently decided to go refined sugar free too. It feels natural and easy to write about these topics as it’s a major part of my life. I believe there’s nothing more important than what you put in an on your body, so this inspires me to write about natural health.

Leigh: Are there any ingredients you can't stand? Which ones can't you live without?

Victoria: I’ve never been a fan of BBQ sauce or smoked things. I can’t even have BBQ sauce in my mouth. Sometimes you can eat something and pretend you like it, if you need to. But I can’t with this!I don’t eat meat, but this is a personal choice. I still prepare some meats dishes for my husband and children.I couldn’t live without green tea, fruit and veg! Ooh, also bananas! I make so many smoothies and bananas give the perfect consistency.

Leigh: What's the most adventurous dish you've ever had?

Victoria: Probably trying crab when I was younger. I’ve never been a big meat eater even when I did eat meat, so I’m not sure I’ve tried anything too crazy!

Leigh: If I'm going to make one of your smoothies from your blog, which one should it be and why?

Victoria: The Green Goodness Smoothie. It’s so delicious! It’s also the perfect introduction to green smoothies for a beginner as the fruit sweetens it nicely and it doesn’t taste too earthy. Here’s the link:

Leigh: How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

Victoria: I’m a highly motivated person which helps! I’m very determined and if I want to do something, I’ll find a way. My blog is now a major source of income so that’s pretty good determination! Even if it wasn’t, and it wasn’t monetised for over three years, I love writing so the passion alone will keep me writing.

Leigh: Any useful healthy tips to leave with us?

Victoria: I’ll leave you with my favourite food quote from Hippocrates ‘Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food’. It’s so important to take care of yourself from the inside. Many people forget how important food is for every aspect of our lives from looking good, feeling good and keeping our insides healthy. The right food is needed to nourish every cell in our bodies. If we look after our bodies, they’ll look after us.
